The latest addition to GeoTek's drill rig fleet
is this custom-built ATV drill rig.
The rig is mounted on a 4-weel drive articulated
skidder-type carrier outfitted with 6-foot tall and 2-foot wide tires and
capable of operating in a wide range of adverse terrain conditions including
mud, swamp, snow, ice, sand, inter-tidal, hills and rocks, and other difficult
to access areas.

The
rig is D-50 manufactured by Diedrich Rig Company and is an extremely
versatile, Tall-around test-boring machine designed for shallow to
medium auger borings, deep casing and rock coring work.
This vehicle provides GeoTek Engineering, Inc. with a unique ability
to deliver powerful drilling equipment to locations not accessible by
traditional truck-mounted rigs. It can also drill faster and deeper
than the track-mounted ATV rigs, which are usually smaller and
under-powered. |
